Giving Thanks

Thanksgiving is not the day to deprive yourself of traditional family foods that you enjoy. Just be sure to get some exercise…outdoors if possible, and eat plenty of vegetables.

Inspiration: think about all of the things in in your life that you are thankful for.

You are What you See

Tip of the Week: Things we see and read produce strong mental images that stay with us in many ways…even at the cellular level.  Sometimes this is obvious, such as having a bad dream following a horror movie.  But sometimes we do not realize that a news story about something awful is eating us up as we go about our daily business.   Remember, your cells/brain/nervous system can not differentiate a thought from a real experience.  TV and internet “news” represent a visual catalogue of disease, mayhem, war, accidents, violence, dirty politics, etc etc etc.  Reduce time spent in front of the news, especially before bed.

Inspiration of the Week: No one has more control over our lives than we do.  We hold the keys to our own chains…nothing about our past determines our future…it is what we do today that determines our future.

Week of 11/1/10

Helpful Hint: Keep washed, fresh cut raw vegetables, such as carrot sticks, celery sticks and broccoli florets in your refrigerator at all times.  This will make implementation step #2 much easier.  Just take a few bites while preparing your meal if you meal will not include raw vegetables.  Also makes for great snacks on the go.

Inspiration: Your health affects everything you do and everyone you know.

Gratitude

Hi True Health Wellness Members!  I am so excited to have you all in this program and I look forward to all of us advancing and growing in life and health as we go through this process.  Thank you for your support!

Please begin to make posts and interact and get to know one another!  I do ask that if you have a negative comment, email it to me privately.  It is never positive to drag others down.

This week, both the inspirational quote and the helpful tip apply to Gratitude.  Think gratitude no matter what the circumstances.

It is not what happens to you that makes you miserable, it is what you think about what happens to you that controls your emotions.
